Leadership Team Member Margaret Lazzerini Honored as "Rising Young Star in Leadership" at Arts Alive! 2007
ArtCetera made a big splash at the Akron Area Arts Alliance’s Arts Alive! Celebration on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Tangier. Long-time arts advocate and ArtCetera Immediate Past President Margaret D. Lazzerini was honored with the Rising Young Star Award in Leadership, which recognizes a volunteer or patron, age 20-40, who is becoming a leader in the arts community by sharing time, offering generous support, and displaying leadership talent.
Lazzerini helped to co-found ArtCetera in 2002, as well as the collaborative Young Professionals Council of Akron (YPC) in 2006. A life-long resident of Akron, she is also the recipient of the Greater Akron Chamber’s “30 For the Future” Award and Akron Life & Leisure magazine’s “Top 10 Young Professionals” award in 2006. Lazzerini is Vice President of Miracle Resources, LLC, a fundraising, marketing, and public relations company. She currently serves on the ArtCetera Board as the Events Chair and on the YPC as President. In previous years, Lazzerini has participated in numerous organizations and boards including the Greater Akron Chamber (ex-officio board member), Akron Area Arts Alliance (executive board member), Children’s Concert Society, and Torchbearers.
The Arts Alive! Awards Celebration is presented by the Akron Area Arts Alliance, a collective voice for 43 major arts and cultural organizations in Summit, Portage, and Medina Counties. The 2007 event marked the fourth year of the celebration that honors individuals and groups that enrich our lives by their participation in arts and cultural activities. “We applaud Margaret’s efforts to help attract and educate future leaders and support for our arts and culture community,” said Jessie Raynor, Akron Area Arts Alliance executive director.
